Question is, how do we get from the 4 word PLUR acronym meaning peace, love, unity and respect to a visual pattern that occurs across centuries, is included in visual designs and depicted on walls, posters, books, t-shirts, but most importantly in people’s minds.

Today I am going to continue a discussion we had about using multiple fonts and colours with respect to some Web 2.0 design trends, this time focusing our attention on colour (diversity) and why would someone incorporate it into design. First, let’s define PLUR:

Asa ca am decis sa acord ceva timp pt construirea acelui brand al Iasi-ului de care se tot vorbeste de cativa ani si sa pun si eu o caramida la temelie. Iar daca sunteti pe faza, puteti si voi contribui la el si chiar extrem de simplu.

Breaking Design Rules: three colors, three fonts

The object of dispute is the other project listed on this site, Consumer Child, it’s design to be more exact.I ain’t sure you keep track of design trends, I do and I’m keen to remind you that last year we had loads of sites showing off at least four colors(usually red, yellow, blue and green) and a sense of “diversity” and “cultural diversity” and “social stuff” floating around.

Now, why am I telling you this? Read more
